I only downloaded the free one to see if I would like it or not. When I went to run it it had a GP38 cab. So I went to train-sim and got the f or e-unit cab. The only thing is I don't know how to make it work. I am new to this. When I go to use the unit it stops before loading and says "failed to make cab" I am sure I did somthing wrong but i don't know what or how.

Hi JJ,

The cabs in MSTS are controlled using a cabview file - this is the CVF file that you'll find in the Cabview folder inside the locomotive's directory. The one for the F-Unit is called "3DTrains_FUnit.cvf"...All information regarding controls, etc. inside this file reference the GP38 cab by way of "aliasing."

In order to use the cab from train-sim, you'll need to see first if it has its own CVF file, and then rename it to "3DTrains_FUnit.cvf" and place it (and the ACE image files) inside the demo F-Unit Cabview folder. This will overwrite the older CVF file (referencing the GP38), and you should see the new cab when you drive the loco in MSTS.
