Running late into Beaver for a meet with a Northbound Freight, the attached photo was shot by our intrepid hogger just before he "joined the birds".
No report of why the engineer of the Northbound didn't hold at Beaver for the meet, although he was overheard to comment: "He was so late, I thought he'd hold for me at Walden"
Ahhh, the good ole' days of Railroadin!

Aggghhh! The infamous cornfield meet!
Was that one of my activites I supplied with the StLNA, or some other?
Hmmm.... (trying to think of an excuse)....
Ah... I have it:
The Northbound had rights over your train... so when he got to Beaver and you weren't in the clear... he figured you would be at Walden as you said!!
Well... that's my story an' I'm stickin' to it.

Ouch!
I hope you still had time joining the birds before you crashed.... All the other things we don`t want to imagine
Seems that the engineer of the counter-train wasnt that patient to await busily switching Tom at Beaver!
Hapy new year and stay safe!

Tom:
My sympathies. Tough place for a meet.
