I finally broke down and decided to purchase one of the Dekosoft sets!

I have been mowing this over for quiet awhile now because the shapes of the
Locos look kind of off to me, but I am going to give them a try and see!

I went with the CSX Super Set and was wondering how long should I
Expect to wait before I can DL them?

You can download the files at any time you please from the relevant product page
You cannot install the pack until Chip has mailed you the keycodes however... He's usually on the ball and will send them as soon as payment clears.

Got to be the best way to do it,as people like myself on dial up can start downloading straight away. biggrin.gif

Well, I have gotten my CSX Super Set and have been running them all day, they are pretty nice, still think they are shaped funny though, and allot of people say that they have the best sounds out there witch I unfortunately have to disagree with as I am around SD40-2's and GP38-2's every day, they sound nothing like there real life counterparts...........sorry!

All in all I am ok with the set, especially for the low price of $16.00 bucks!

Sorry if this offends anyone as this is just my opinion!

Now um gonna go run them somemore and wait for Kev to come after me biggrin.gif

Everybody is entitled to have their own opinion.

I'm quite happy with the Dekosoft products, and that's my opinion.

No reason for me to.

You bought it and you gave your opinion. You didn't get personal.

I guess what most people mix up is

a) a fair and reasonable review / criticism of a given product (be it free- or payware) and
cool.gif slandering / downgrading of a given product which is bound to attack the author's feelings.

I guess every author of MSTS models here will gladly appreciate any constructive criticism to help him improve a product as long as it is fair and reasonable (so for example no nit-picking).

You said, you don't like the sounds, well fine. Nothing wrong with that, especially since you state you're near the locos featured in the set every day. laugh.gif

What I mean by being around them every day is that I work for a GM plant in the rail shipping yard that is NS 's Moraine Yard, I am mostly around NS SD40-2's and GP38-2's, all of them are high hood long hood forward, hell they were using an SD70 to switch the yard for about six months!

At any rate, I get paid to be around these wonderful locomotives on a daily basses!

I own all but one of Chip's sets (don't have the C&NW set... yet smile.gif ) and I don't think them "funny shaped" at all. Very often some "artistic license" must be taken to compensate for the limitations of MSTS. I still have all the old (now obsolete) Pro Series trains as well. One thing that should be considered is the value for what you pay, I have other payware locomotives and on those sites (ie. Diesels West) you get only a few locos for more money, and in the case of the above mentioned 2/3 of them are TU's (trailing units) undriveable (unless you "tweak" the files). Both Chip & Marc have freeware versions you may download to sample what their products are like as well, which is wise and generious. I have been reskinning for a while and respect these guys as reskinning "well" can take a lot of hours of tedious work, creating from scratch takes 10 times that. Its always best to consider what a huge amount of work these guys do creating this stuff only to sell it for the price of a few drinks at the local pub. smile.gif

Again just my $0.02 worth!! biggrin.gif

Have a GR-8 day & "God Bless" ..... Don biggrin.gif

Nicely said Don,

I am getting used to the set, in fact I was just considering ordering my 2nd set, and I am probably going to go with the C&NW set! biggrin.gif
