Andre
I know your busy etc, just a question.
Have you considered releasing the extra rolling stock and engines for the StLNA without any activities?
This in not a hurry up, I can’t wait, why is it taking so long and all the other things people might think type of post.
Cheers

Hi Karl:
You have hit the nail on the head, the activities are the hold up on the StLNA Pack. At the conception of the StLNA Pack, the idea was to include the activities in order to make the Pack more attractive to potential purchasers and to give as much value as practical.
I wanted to develop a StLNA Pack for two primary reasons:
1. To supply the North Arkansas with engines as accurate as reasonably practical, along with equipment that was likewise as accurate as reasonably practical, including lettering reflective of the era and region.
2. To develop a product that could be released ASAP, so that VSC could generate income for Davis Locomotive Works instead of DLW having to wait for the Colorado Midland project to be finished/released.
The delays of the past 2-4 weeks has primarily been my new avocational situation as well as other time commitments. Trying to find the time and concentration level needed to sit down and start developing activities (which are not easily produced) has resulted in frustration, and thus, further delay.
I will seriously consider your suggestion.

Having had a chance to see the new equipment since November while working on the physics, I have also urged Andre to make it available. Jon Davis' locos and cars are beautifully done and I would hate to be about the only person to have use of them.

There are others that would hate that too! LOL

Everyone needs to understand that my activities not being included will not lower the target price of $20.
I am to receive minimal from the pack proceeds (to cover bandwidth/handling/etc). I wanted DLW to receive the returns, for DLW has done 90% of the work. I was supplying the activities gratis to aid in the sales for DLW.
If those of you interested in the Pack can accept that, then there is a very real possiblity I can wrap this up and have it out much, much sooner.
Feedback please.

Andre, having seen one of the new locos in close up, I would not be overly concerned about not having the activities ready. They are superb and will sell themselves on their quality.
The set is going to appeal to two types of customers, those who already have the StL&NA, and those who want accurate period stock for other routes (and potentially as a lead in to the StL&NA). In a way, by not having the activities as part of the package, this latter group might be more inclined to buy, in that they will not be paying for something they don't want or need.
As to the committed V Scalers, I think, even without the activities, there will be strong interest. Many will already know how to swap out engines and stock, and it might be that a few could do this for the old activities and make the new consists available on the forum for download.
Go for it Andre

Considering all the freeware engines that Jon Davis has provided, I don't see a problem with the price of the
Equiptment Pack without the activities.
I think it would be nice though, if you included a fix to convert the activities in St.L&NA to the new Engines and
Rolling Stock or at least a guide so we, not so computer savvey, could do it ourselves.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Andre,
Count me in for that pack either way... The pack looks outstanding from the previews - and - we all know Jon is one of the best modelers around... Matched with Bill's physics - we are talk'n a team that can't be beat !!! It will certainly bring some fresh life to your route with the variety of rolling stock included... While the A&O is very good - IMHO - the North Arkansas is where it is at... Your route got me hooked on this steam stuff...
Hmm - with the pack - I bet some of the talented folk around here could swap out Jon's equipment for the stock equipment in your original activities... Would those activities then be allowed to be uploaded ??? Imagine seeing a 2-8-0 - working a short coal drag - coming around the bend instead of the same old ten wheeler... Woohoo - can't wait...

I like your "realistic" activities - too - maybe you could throw us a few bones if time ever permits...

Regards,
Scott

Great Poobah;
I too would buy just the equiptment without acts. Free Form is great for ,short lines. The $20 is not unreasonable.

Andre:
Checkbook and pen in-hand and ready to write! Jus' say when. . .
New activities can be done later if your time allows and the mood strikes.
Should be easy to swap the new equipment into the original StL&NA Activities w/ ConBuilder or ActivityMaster.

Okay. I will proceed as I can and try to get it wrapped up.
Doubt a great deal on the pack will be accomplished this week because vocationally/avocationally it is going to be a heavy week. Railroad wise, on account of still trying to learn all facets of the lime operation. Put in 12 hours up there today, and have marked up for Friday and Saturday. After that, it will probably be cover openings by my lonesome. (i.e. no one riding with me or switching with me.)
Thanks for the input.
