Here's a peek at our
Burlington Northern Mainline Power set, featuring the return of
Pete Abrams as texture artist.
Lots of six-axle power will be arriving in this package:

We're continuing to add more details, like glad hands and improved couplers, too.

We've reworked the SD45 to make it more accurate than ever:

Also we'll include a new 'B'-unit to boost those heavy, long-haul trains:

More to come -- stay tuned!

very nice, especially the whitefaced unit. it may not be planned for this set, but I'd line up for some 4-axle and switcher power in cascade green too...

Pete Returns ! ! !
Yes.
I can hardly wait. Pete is definately the man when it comes to painting BN. All of his work is stellar. Yet, there is something about the way he does those Green and Whitefaced BN locos that brings them to life.
I would even like to see an additional "heritage" type pack, with some retro BN white and a little greeen Models, and of course of a heavy whiteface representation.
I'd shell out for 2 varying sets, Classic and Heritage, if they met with your standards and were a good deal price wise as Deko products always are.
Great to see ya back Pete !

Can I see some White Faced BN GP50's in this pack maybe. Also the 3500 series GP40M's would look nice as well. Oh well great job so far.

Dear all,
I hope it's not all white face BN. They didn't appear until 1989 and I'm modeling 1982-1985. A GP50 green please.

Wow.
The Big Green machine has plenty of fans I see.
I think it will be a nice mix, knowing the Deko Crew, and I doubt it will be "all white faces, etc.".
What I and a few others were trying to get at, was that this set has enough interest to possibly see a Superset, and perhaps a few heritage type packs as well, (Perhaps at an additional cost), for those of us who wish to see Pete "do his thang" on units from various time periods. Sort of like what was done with the CSX Superset. That type of thing seems to have been a unique event, as the Supersets after the CSX set, tended to be more straight forward and not as exotic. That did not mean I was not happy with them. That would be completely false. I loved them ALL. I just appreciated the fact that the CSX set offered so much diversity. I would like to see that happen with this set too.
My 2 cents.

Ps. Lets talk release date Deko Crew? End of the Month?

Thanks for all your nice feedback. A couple of things:
* The BN set will mainly feature six-axle power, although some four-axle units are also to be included as well as a freight car set. We haven't finalized the exact contents for the release, but will announce that soon.
* Generally we're planning to make new releases more closely tied together so that those who crave realism can get a cohesive sample of time and roster. Eventually the CSX set may be broken up into smaller pieces -- it's a bit scattershot as it is now. I don't think this will happen any time soon, we've got too much going on at the moment, but just to let you know that change is inevitable. That's not to say we won't do 'heritage' sets -- quite the opposite -- we'll just plan to do them in tighter packages.
The first round of green machines is in beta. Hope to have some more screens real soon...

Communication is a beautiful thing when it works

Look forward to them gentlemen. (As always)
Ahem ... Cough cough ... Where are they in Beta at? I wouldn't mind getting a sneak peak, as I have access to the most obvious Beta Test location. Wink wink.

I would really love to see just one 710 powered unit- a GP60 or SD60, like BN 8300 EMD leaser, or SD60M #9294 from the early eighties for this new set...

Well i think this is another great addon pack for msts, i have bought the csx and bnsf mainline theme packs, and i must say that i love the sounds, cabview and well everything else under the sun!! I plan on buying this pack when it comes out also, though i think you should also have a bn gp30 included, maybe that can be a bonus for this pack and a patched gp30 for the bnsf pack. man you gotta love the unique look to those emds. Other than that Chip, great job and keep hammering away with those awesome emds!!

Streamlines has just released their Burlington Northern Set(Engine Pack1). I would rather buy the Dekosoft set- it will be consistent with my other Dekosoft sets & the sounds are great as well. Plus you get the rolling stock, something Streamlines doesn't offer yet. Please get your BN set out soon!

Well, I guess you are trying to compare apples to bananas. If you look onto their website you see that the BN set is not a stand-alone set but meant to go along with their BN Northwestern Sub product line. So in due time you'll get a route and rolling stock to go with it.
However I am not here to defend SLI. I will in due time probably get both sets. I have most of Dekosofts sets and like them all. Yes, the locos look different, but no reason not to run them together!

I have not heard of the BN Northwestern Sub. I did see the Super Series warbonnet units which I do want to buy. I have The UP and both Santa Fe sets from Streamlines. I also have the older MLT BN Heritage Set as well as the beautiful B30-7 B-unit form Diesels West, so I didn't want to add duplicate stock. I like both companies' products, but it's hard to keep all of my equipment sorted out. I guess I need a new utility- maybe 'MSTS Bookkeeper' so I can sort out my freight services.

Erika, there is a real easy fix to keep things sorted.
Edit the name line.
For example
A Dekosoft, BNSF SD40-2, I would edit the name line like this
Name ( "BNSFDeko SD40-2 ****" )
The MLT will be
Name ( "BNMLT SD40-2 ****" )
Streamlines will be
Name ( "BNSFSTR SD40-2 *****" )
This helps me know where something came from.

I try to be as current as possible while surfing all the website containing add-ons for MSTS. As I'm currently re-building my copy of MSTS I'm a bit short on pictures but that will change soon!
But yeah, Crawford looks extremely nice with Scalerail! Should be a definite download!

Will the set be discounted to folks like me who have almost everything you sell (haven't got the CNW set yet, no reflection on your work just not one of my favorite RR's). The discount for previous customers is one of the things I appreciate and brings a lot of return business. I really enjoy the BNSF Mainline power set I have but prefer the BN as it suits the era I prefer to train sim in!

Have a GR-8 day & "God Bless" ...... Don
