If anyone remembers, what's the best running time engineers have achieved on the above activity?

Mal - I can't say yet how long it's going to take me to finish. I'm in the middle of the activity, just about ready to tackle Tunnel Hill, and it's about 1:30. So it's been an hour and a half since I got into the cab in Seligman.

I'll let you know how long it takes me when (and IF) I finally get to Berryville.

Mal;
It took me 2:30 to complete this act. Lots of luck. ph34r.gif

Andy and David:

You might have some fun coming up.(Andy)... I won't say more until you finish it. Thanks guys for replying. I think my time was on the order of 3 hours.

I haven't done many wo's for this route yet, but Grain Haul was more fun than many I have run lately. I did manage to stop at Pender after coming down Seligman Hill, but it was close. The dynamics don't see to do a real super job of slowing the consist down and of coarse, there's a lot of weight behind those engines! The problem was that the first time I tried the activity, I overshot the far switch at Pender and couldn't back up the train. So the next time I was more careful. I even set the hand brakes while waiting for the AI to show up.

Andy, let us know how you did.

So Grain Haul 1 is kickin' some butt, eh? biggrin.gif

Wimps. Sissy's. biggrin.gif

(Of course, I won't tell you how many times I ran that activity before it was ready for human consumption. The poor slob developing the activity gets mighty good at the act before he's finished with the fool thing. blink.gif )

BTW Mal: what does "wo's" mean?

Andre,

Do you think it means Work Orders? wink.gif

That could be it, Paul. unsure.gif

I won't say it's kicked my butt yet, but there was certainly at least one unwelcome surprise afore I hit Junction. Let's just say that you've got a pretty potent ornery streak in ya, Erdna! dry.gif

wos = work orders

Okay, I really like this activity because it was challenging. First is trying to stop at Pender without running past the switch and at the same time covering the RP. Then there was the hill leading up to the Tunnel. I couldn't make it and had to double the hill. I put the first cut in the next town (don't remember name) and went back for the last cut. Also, I went ahead and tied down a number of handbrakes before going down Seligman hill (for the third time).

Lots of fun.... biggrin.gif

I didn't want to say anything about doubling the hill just in case that was really part of the activity.

OK - I finally made it all the way to the Berryville Engine House. It took me 2:45. I was a bit strong on the air a couple of times, but kept 'er "on the high iern" and made it home safe 'n sound. cool.gif

All in all, nice activity. But I stick by my statement that Andre's got a pretty lively ornery streak in 'im! dry.gif
