They look great. Reminds me of our old friend that used to model the CM.

Great looking engines Andre. My hat is again off to the best damn steam engine bulder I have seen for this sim. Jon is the best, no doubt and it will be quite a challenge to run this route prototypically but I am up for the challenge. Thanks for the early pics. You seem to always get the best people Andre. You have a gift my friend. Thanks for making it possible for the rest of us to share it with you. And thank you Mr. Davis. Great work as always. wink.gif

Beautiful, just beautiful! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I lived in Colorado Springs for 2 years in the 70s, and as I recall, the old CM enginehouse was still there.
I think it had been converted into stores and shops for various "crafters"

I certainly don't want to rain on this parade - those models look excellent! But I was wondering if you could use a lighter background. The one that's there now obscures some of the detail and makes it harder for me to really appreciate the fine craftsmanship that's obviously being presented.

Remember Colorado Springs from trips out to see the narrow gauges lines back in the 70's and during the earlier trips the engine house was being 'gentrified'. Wonder if it's still standing serving whatever purpose it may. It'd be better than having it torn down and gone.

Yup. Ol' Albert would have loved to have seen this come to life. sad.gif

CM Roundhouse:

It's still standing. When I was there as a child, it was the home of Van Briggle Pottery. The other remaining CM building was the "Ghost Town" tourist trap. I don't know what is there now. If we (wife and I) were wealthy, we would head out to the Colorado Springs area in the early summer and get textures from the remaining "period" and CM structures, as well as rock, tree, water, etc, etc, etc textures. If a trip doesn't come to pass, then I'll have to rely upon my current Colorado photo library I've taken over the years.

Background color:

That was my call, not Jon's. I liked the way the black background presents the equipment in a dramatic fashion. As for seeing details, being as these are early pre-production models, some of the details currently depicted may not make it to the final model if better data is unearthed between now and release. Thus, what you see in regards to fine detail, may not be what you get anyway. The idea of these shots is to simply present the product with as much impact as I could muster.

Pics:

Neat pics. I wonder if that really is an old South Park Mogul?
