Interesting is a word and a half! Those are fantastic. I really like the flat with the tank engine load. Jon has done it again! Wow! I'm savin' me pennies for this one, if I don't buy anything else this year!!

Did you by any chance notice a new engine has been added? Check out engine #8.

Engine #8 is a glaring oversight on my part. Doing the research, I somehow began to "assume" that Baldwin Moguls 6-8 were of the same order, hence identical. (I think it was the delievery dates in which I made that assumption.) However, pictorial evidence unearthed indicated that was NOT the case. Engine #8 was the first used engine purchased by the StLNA, from the Cincinnati, New Orleans, Texas & Pacific.

I immediately touched base with Jon Davis to alert him to my oversight. My thinking at the time was that for the sake of authenticity, only StLNA engines 2-7 would be supplied. The idea of me to creating an ersatz #8 after Jon's hard work to be accurate would simply be intolerable as well as compromising the authenticity of the engine roster. Neither result would be acceptable.

Jon to the rescue, and an accurate #8 is the result! This basically means that the StLNA Equipment Pack will have SIX diffferent steam MODELS, totally different from one another. Given the number variations, there will be a total of EIGHT different steamers that will be supplied!

And then there's the quantity of rolling stock to be inlcuded...

But that's another story best left for another time.

Is there some way we can get the odor of hot valve oil and coal smoke in the computer room?

Just beautiful. Now if I only knew how do run those tea kettles. Of coarse that won't stop me from placing my order. Actually those would look right at home on Canton too.

You can do what a buddy did once ... I come wheelin' into his train room, set the air and said, "It smells like steam oil in here!" "Take a closer look," he says. And there around the room seems he had purloined some of his wife's potpourri heaters - you know those little thingies that the women put those leaves and water and stuff in, light the candle and then half drive ya out of the house with the perfume smell? Put steam oil in 'em, he did. wink.gif

I never did hear the reaction of the queen of the house to the steam oil in her little potpourri pots, but it sure makes a room smell great! laugh.gif

Well, as a real lover of steam engines all I can see is, hot damn! Sorry, but those are some great looking engines that I am really looking forward to running. Jon is the best at steam engines, there is no doubt about that.
I do have one question though and not trying to be picky here and it may have been done that way on purpose but on the side of the box car, should the name Despatch be Dispatch? Again, it may have been done that way on purpose but thought I would ask just in case it was not. Other than that, just some great looking stuff Andre. Tell Jon, HE'S THE MAN! smile.gif smile.gif wink.gif

OK, I'll fess up. A buddy and I use a Dremel to quick bore into a lump of Hesperus coal with a drill bit when we're operating his Sn3 RGS. Fills the train room with a hint of coal smoke. Mmmmmm. Lovely. Eu de bituminous.

Thanks Andre! Guess that clears it up then. Just wondering whether the original was spelled wrong on the car or not? Guess, in the final analysis it really doesn't matter how it is spelled, as long as consistency is kept from railcar to railcars. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif wink.gif

It is a fine looking set. Jon has done an excellent job.

As for progress, it's down to my part of the pack, which is:

Still have a few clone/retexturing jobs left to create in order to have more variety of select pieces of rolling stock than pictured, and once all the equipment is finished, the new activities will need to be produced.

Certainly not overly taxing, but given my vocational/personal schedule of late, will take some time. I hope to be able to project a release date soon.
