Just starting to familiarize myself with the A&O sub. I printed out the maps that were in the documents folder (8 total). I got lost looking at the maps, so I'm reading the manual. But I'm still having trouble figuring out how to get from point A to point B in some places. I definitely get lost at Junction. Where does the un-named (East?) track go next? Also, the town of Eureka Springs is listed on the map, but I can't find a map of said town. Is one available?

Next, what happens East of Freeman?

I'm sure I'll figure all this out once I start running, but I'm a geek for maps and like to know where I am and where I'm going.

Thanks

Hi Kerry:

The maps, eh? biggrin.gif

Well... first off, I see I forgot to include Eureka Springs. How nice. blush.gif

As for the maps that are included with the route:

If you'll note, each one is numbered. Once printed out, the sequence is like reading a book: Left to right, top to bottom. Therefore, set Map 1 down, and place Map 2 beside it. Reading Map 2 from top to bottom, you'll understand that Pender is next, followed by Walden. Do the same until all the way to Urbanette and then to Superior Lime & Gravel (Map 7). The Berryville branch map sheet has the suffix "a" (5a) to indicate it ajoins Map 5 at the indicated point. ("To Berryville").

I emulated the style and logic found within my prototype SL-SF (Frisco) railroad track charts.

As for Eureka Springs: It's an easy town to learn... use "(00) Intro Ride" to go have a look.

For your convenience, here's an overview map I hastily created.

Kerry, you can also click on the Map button on the Drive A Train/Route Activity Selection page in the sim, right under the A&M herald, for a quick view when you're in Train Simulator. I like to read the details of the activity in the lower right corner of that page then click on the map to see where I'm a goin'! biggrin.gif
