Andre, or anyone else know why this might be happening.

The switches along Berryville Back Track work, but they don't actually throw.

Haven't tried other locations at Bville, but switches elsewhere have given no problem.

In the pic I had just reversed through the switch as it appears in the pic. The switch indicator showed the true position of the switch.

Update, none of my switches work at Bville, but they seem to be ok elsewhere.

Any ideas gentlemen please

Rod and all,

I remember Andre being concerned about a tile where the switches would work but they don't animate. I don't know if this is the tile or not but whatever it is that is happening has befuddled everybody. Now I'm just guessing that's the problem you'll need Andre to check that out for sure. I wished I remember that when I first got the route to check that out but I forgot all about the problem myself.

But Andre will be gone for a few hours. A parishoner has taken sick and Andre took some time to go visit the person who was taken to hospital in Tulsa, a few hours away from him. He'll be back sometime this evening.

Rich, thanks for that. I don't know how Andre finds the time to do what he does.

Comforting (?!) to know that it might not just be my setup. I've reinstalled the route to eliminate that possibility.

Anyone else like to check Berryville - in explore mode, starting with the opening setup at Bville engine track. Run forward and see if you can move the switches as they come up behind you.

Thanks guys.

I just checked Rod and it's me too. When Andre first complained about it I figured it was just his computer. *looks around nervously for Andre and sees he's not here* *sticks chest out and with great bravado* Yeah, ole Andre has this like really ancient toy he calls a computer. He complains about the thing constantly. And I say, why don't you upgrade the thing? And he says to me as an excuse *hears door thumps* Well, back to sweeping!

I dunno what it could be Rod. I remember on Ohio Rail encountering this anomaly too but I don't remember what happened except it was only one switch. Except that switch was a passing siding outside of McConnelsville swinging where the track bends northward and there wasn't another switch for a few miles. Beats me what's doing it.

*sweeps dust to Andre's side of the counter*

I was hoping that was a side "benefit" of my very ancient computer I'm still hammering away on.

However, I didn't just "assume" that, but sought input from other respected route developers in the payware sector. Some have experienced the same thing and we are all quite perplexed as to what causes it. None have found a fix for it.

Until one of us stumbles on the cause and how to fix it, I'm afraid we're stuck with it.

It was with much consternation that I made the decision to release knowing that some of the switches did not animate. However, my options were:

* Suspend the project indefinitely until a cause and fix was found.

* Go ahead and release it, since it has zero impact on playability, and hope the overall quality of the route will minimize the slight visual compromise it imposes.

Well Andre, it is only a very small part of an excellent route and I, for one, am extremely happy you didn't wait for a fix (if one ever came) before releasing.

The visual impact is minimal, and you only notice it if, like me, you tend to fly around outside the cab while moving.

Yeah, not a problem for me. I just pull up the trusty switching to see which way the switch is actually thrown. smile.gif This route is simply awesome. I can't stop playing it! biggrin.gif

Won't be problem for me; I use the F8 Box to see switch positions anyway.
In fact, it was a long time before I even noticed that the switch points were moving biggrin.gif
