David and Erik,
What a model!

This is the kind of SP-specific stuff I have been thirsting for. I am especially impressed with the distinctly European-look of the cab--quite a contrast to the standard American cabs

. And the sound, much like the distinctive GE sounds, set this engine apart from the EMDs. In deference to the comment on the windows in an earlier post: indeed they are visually larger than the old AHM/Rivarossi model (I have one setting on my bookcase), but this in no way detracts from this outstanding model. I, for one, do not get mired in endless debates over details.
I hooked 9002 up to a 3DTrains F7B and 40 cars, and ran it out of Bakersfield. Pure bliss.

To the prophets of doom over on the Surfliner Forum, here is the answer to your questions about the future of MSTS--great modelers and artists, with visionary route developers will find a way to persevere and satisfy the community.
Thanks for your efforts--now, when is the DH-643 going to leave the shops?
Dave
