I downloaded bryan jones' repaint of the 8800 into its original 8255. Will this overwrite the 8800 and become the 8255, or do I need to make a copy of the 8800 and then unzip it to the 8800 folder? Thanks for all of your help.

Hello,

* You need to make a copy of the files in the 8800 folder and paste into a new folder named sd40t2_sp8255.

* Then you'll need to rename the .s, .sd and .eng files to sd40t2_sp8255.s, sd40t2_sp8255.sd, and sd40t2_sp8255.eng.

* Next, you'll need to open the .sd and .eng files in WordPad, and search for and replace each instance of the name "sd40t2_up8800" to "sd40t2_sp8255." Also change the line

Name ( "SD40T-2 -- UP #8800" )

to

Name ( "SD40T-2 -- SP #8255" )

so you can properly identify it MSTS.

* Finally, create new consists for your new locomotive in ConBuilder or the Activities Editor.

Well he hasn't posted in almost 2 years and his website appears to have gone bye-bye, you will need to use RR or CB to swap it out.
