16 new scenarios for the Fort Kent route! Not just any scenarios, but A Day In The Life of a Fort Kent Engineer. Here's the concept folks. Staying consistent with the theme of the original Fort Kent release you graduate from internship (that's what the first 20 scenarios for Fort Kent was all about) you are now a permanent resident with the railroad and your one day a week assignment is back on the Fort Kent Sub.

But it's not 16 scenarios representing 16 days. Nope, they represent one day of each week for a month though not necessarily the same month. Or year for that matter. I picked 4 days out of your tenure with the Fort Kent Sub where each day is represented by several scenarios (each one picking up where the last one left off).

And while the original scenarios did not take advantage of AI trains, this set does. That's right, I take you back a few years to when the Fort Kent was more viable and you would have likely seen more trains running on the main. These AI trains do drop-offs, meets, and pass-thrus. And while pleasing to see more activity on the line I will stress that I stay true to the notion this is a small subsection of a larger route. So the lines aren't crowded.

The scenarios are a variety too. Sometimes you start in Fort Kent yard, some times in Eagle Lake Grave and a couple of times somewhere along the mainline. You'll drive the SD-40 mostly but guess what? A few scenarios include Railroad Days in Fort Kent and you get to drive the F7 passenger and caboose train. A great mixture of variety to make your work on the railroad pleasant.

Last but not least is the manual which is 15 pages of introduction to your Fort Kent story. Included is a table of the schedules for pickups/deliveries you do in the area. And as a special feature I included some how-to observations how I got AI Trains and the Player train to get along on single track main.

Combined with the original 20 scenarios for the Fort Kent route, now you'll have 36. And if you purchased the Fort Kent route through Steam I have some excellent news for you as well. RS.com intends to sell these scenarios as well with adapted for the CN equipment that came with their version of the Fort Kent route.

Coming soon!

Hold the phone! Looks like there's been a glitch in our plans and a revision will need to be made. The folks at Steam, I am told, aren't used to this idea of add-ons with add-ons and are not buying our pitch. So the Steam version is a no-go at this juncture. So I'm gonna have to go back and redo the advertising where it says, get'it while their hot. I think there is a plan by RS.com to do their version of the scenarios with the CN equipment still underway but nothing in gold yet.

Remedy!

The purchase of the Fort Kent Scenario Expansion set now includes two versions. One for direct purchases from All Aboard and the other for those who purchased from Steam the Fort Kent route.

This means with one receipt you get access to both versions. But please note. The Steam scenario expansion is only good for those who purchased the Fort Kent route from Steam. The CN SD40-2 engine is not included in the expansion scenario version.

Steam felt that an add-on to an add-on would confuse their patrons so all plans to make this set availale thru Steam had to be cancelled. But now you can buy this scenario set #41-56 direct from All Aboard and enjoy this add-on as a continuation to the previous scenarios.
