Although I'm not one for being a fan of RW, they have some killer environments compared to MSTS!

All down to the weather and the lighting - need to fiddle around (as with MSTS) getting the right time of day for the particular "environment".

This is just the standard dynamic European Heavy Storm, but I had gone out and left the sim running by mistake - came back, late-ish on in the day, to heavy weather. Started to brighten up after a while smile.gif

There has been criticism of the dynamic weather, But I really like this one as it gives a good range of lighting for photographs.

Can you make a Scenario where you start out in some partly cloudy sky, and then once you get to the Truckee on Donner (just an place to help me get to my point) and then have it being a blizzard, or is it's enviroments the same as how MSTS is?

I think the thing that sold me was the environment, the trees, ground textures and details on things that are not prevalent with MSTS.

If guys like Marc state that this is the future then you have to figure that they know that MSTS has been pushed to the limits at present.

Weather is a timed event, rather than a random one. If you set the change to be 1 hour, and your point-A to point-B activity takes 1 hour, then you'll see the change at the end of the activity. Some of the weather events I've seen are too abrupt, but are easy enough to change to suit.

Same for me Kevin. I have some beautiful MSTS engines that I have been really upset about leaving behind, but I find that each time I go back into the MSTS environment, it just no longer satisfies. The knock out punch is having good virtual cabs.

RW does take some getting used to, especially after years of MSTS. There are some similar features, but it is only recently that I have started to feel I can get myself out of problems and work the sim the way I want it to work.
