I note that andre has altered his tutorial on finding tutorials to get started in MSTS to show links in the webarchive.

Note that these links are WAY WAY out of date eg Newroads currently is at v4 with tsection.dat of 38: web archive is 3.2/34

The steam4me site is currently down because someone forgot to put another 20c in the meter! ohmy.gif

I'm assured it will be back soon.

BTW, I had set the steam4me site to be overlooked by webarchive, org robots a couple of years ago as it meant I had lost control of items that could be subject to copyright and I then had lost the ability to delete items that were controversial or wrongly attributed: that's why much of webarchive's stuff is over 2 years old.

Webarchive.org information is NOT my site and their content has NEVER been sanctioned or approved by me: they have an arrogant "we are right / we are good" attitude that overrides honest and ethical behaviour and they seem to think that copyright doesn't apply to them because they are "archivists".

Yuri:

Thank you for the heads-up concerning the currently available archived Steam4me pages. I did not know that. Do you think it would be best for me to temporarily disable the links in my "Getting Started In MSTS" sticky thread and wait until the "real deal" comes back online?

The steam4me site is slowly coming back to life - still very much a WIP.

As far as your starter tutorial is concerned, here are the links to be updated:

MSTS Updates: http://msts.steam4me.net/MSTS_Updates/
XTracks: http://msts.steam4me.net/routes/xtracks.html
Newroads: http://msts.steam4me.net/routes/newroads.html

About 25 of the 100+ tutorials are back.

I've also created an "error messages/troubleshooting page" at http://msts.steam4me.net/msts_errors.html to try to put every error message and problem in the one place for easy reference.

This page will be invaluable to anybody remotely serious about MSTS. Thanks Yuri.
