Okay... I alluded to the fact that I am working on a project and would have more details forthcoming. Things are still in its infancy with the project... BUT...

In the meantime, let's have some fun! devil.gif

Here's what let's do...

For the next week, I'm going to post hints, either in the form of AE maps, or RE screens, or some other form of "hint" of what this project is. I will post a new hint each evening.

You must correctly guess:

1. The name of the railroad of the primary route being built.
2. The area being modeled.

Post your guesses here in this thread. I will answer with a simple "yes", or "no", or some such succinct answer. IF one of you guesses correctly within the time limit of one week, I will give you the VSC route of your choice, or, if you have them all, and IF you have a PayPal account, I will award you $30 via your PayPal account.

In the case of duplicate correct guesses, the correct answer with the earliest posting time stamp will be the "winner".

(Of course, the few of you that have inside information are exempt from this contest!)

Below is your first hint.

Good luck!!!!!

Okay... time for some more hints!!! devil.gif

Here you go:

* This route is within the lower 48 states. (Ruling out Canada, Mexico, Alaska... etc!)
* The entire prototype is within ONE state.

Below you'll find a map of the main yard of the primary railroad being modeled. (NOTE: The wye on the spur is NOT prototype, but instead is a concession to the lack of functioning turntables in MSTS.)

IF you're a REALLY sharp cookie... you MIGHT be able to recognize this famous yard!

As I said, feel free to post GUESSES.

AND...

You can post QUESTIONS to help you narrow it down. As mentioned above, I'll answer with simple yes/no types of answers!

For EXAMPLE, you might ask: "Is it in Europe?"... and I would answer: "No." biggrin.gif

Have fun!

Is this route in Missouri?

Nope! devil.gif

BUT...

You've got it down to 47 States!

laming
Sorry Mark. Not Texas.

(Hi Mark! Long time, no see! Good to "see" you out and about. Hope you're doing well!)
SAR704
Does any track remain today?
laming
ANOTHER interesting question!

Hmmm. Not a simple answer. Let's see what I can do with it...

Answer: No tracks of the main yard remains. (Main yard is Yard "D" in the first pic, main subject of the second pic.)

Okay... I GOTTA' hit the sack... the alarm goes off at 5:30 AM for me!

Nighty-night!

HOWEVER... no... it is not in the Central Time Zone.

(Bam: There went another bunch of states.)

Recapping what you know now:

* It's not in Missouri.
* It's not in the Pacific Time Zone.
* It's not in Texas. (Of which none of my ex's are, either.)
* The main yard as depicted no longer has rail therein.
* It's not the Iron Mounain & Southern in NW Arkansas.
* It's not the Frisco in NW Arkansas.
* It's not in the Central Time Zone.

You guys are zeroing in... won't be long now!

Welp... off to pack my lunch an' head off to work. Anybody wanna' ride in an Alco with me today? laugh.gif

The Frisky part of it comes from the name of my cat, and she was named as such because she is what her name implies, frisky.

The numbers are the car number of two of my favorite NASCAR drivers, Robby Gordon (7), and Mark Martin (5).
