Hollywood is back with a short featurette for the Fort Kent To Eagle Lake route for Railworks. Filmed in Railwork's very own technicolor, this short is bound for destiny in movie theatres all across the world. This movie has everything. Lights, action and cameras! But no music. Sorry folks, I forgot to put it in. Who'd a thought? blush.gif So grab the popcorn, the cheezewhiz, your electrifying toothbrush and huddle beneath the blanket for this thriller. Starring all the major players of screen and Broadway - me? Now playing: Autumn In Maine (An All Aboard production written and produced and filmed... by me! devil.gif ). See Fort Kent page for tickets. Look for this movie poster.

Pretty solid scenery there, apart from the odd minor bug. A credit to the capability of the sim, as well as the authors involved is that a lot of the scenery shown in the RW screenshots and videos is almost photoreal. It's good to watch the video a couple of times to appreciate the detail and work involved

Just one thing though, the locomotive is very quiet, to where it almost sounds like it runs on hydrogen smile.gif. I imagine it has a lot more to do with sound settings rather than the capability of the sim.

The sound issue could be my settings. I intended music to accompany the video so I didn't do anything with the sound settings to boost the train's volumes. Mostly I did the video as a warm-up for the main video I want to do when the route is ready for release. This one is just a teaser. I'm workin' on it though. Got my hammer right here. Fixes everything when it comes to computers.

Yeah please make more videos. The more media there is for RW, the more it will inspire others to give it their best in creating more stuff. This will only be good for the community. Plus by the looks of it, there's still plenty of potential within the route for more teasers smile.gif

Quit with the teasers and get to work and finished it!

Seriously, looking great and I'm just waiting for the final product. I'm sure it will be the best ever. devil.gif

Well Rich, I'm not much into KRS/RW anymore, but you have my purchase! This route really looks good. Now if only there were some Bangor and Aroostook GP38s to be had.

Could you post that on youtube?

If someone has a web site to post movies on, why would they want to post it on YouTube?
rgarber
Can you turn comments off if you post a video on YouTube? Everywhere you go on the internet there's a comments thing afterwards and sometimes people write the dumbest things.

Quickie update...

#14 of the scenarios is finished with my goal being 20. I did 8 for Autumn and 6 for Winter. I just need six more for Summer and that will wrap up the Ft. Kent route except for the manual which I intend to be brief. Looks llike Don Hughes will do the schematics for the route as well which will be in the manual.

Have you all seen this thread by Dick Cowen? He's already (and I do mean already!) done Bangor and Aroostook versions of his F3 and GP7. Here's the thread:

Dick Cowen's B&A F3 and GP7

The next route project is looking to be a PRR route. I had asked Dick Cowen to do a GG1, and he did (almost a couple of years ago for MSTS) and I've been sorely wanting to do a route that's electrified so the GG1 could finally be put to use. Tom Pierce of Broadway Limited suggested a route in Maryland that leads all the way up to and pass Three Mile Island. I don't think I can do the whole thing but 50 miles of it, maybe. I've looked at a 30 mile version of it. Great, now I'm rambling. Anyway, this isn't even on the drawing boards yet but I'm leaning that direction.

Yes Rich you can turn the comments of or on

I guess I can do it then but is there any particular reason why to post the video on youtube? - Rich

That way i could save it on to my page as my fav video and then hopefully alot of my freinds on there will see it and get the route.
CRQ5508
Here's an idea. Send your friends on Youtube a link to the video on Rich's site? Wouldn't that work as well?
rgarber
At this point the route is finished with all 20 scenarios written and tested and the manual is now complete too. I do have a couple of minor issues to attend to though. Look for the release to be late next week. I'll have more details on my website when I update it this weekend and next week. The good thing about the movie release was it made me aware of a track rule issue I wasn't aware of - so that's fixed now as well. Unfortunately I got a room to paint this weekend and then carpet to lay all while heading off to see the tax man this week. It's gonna be a busy week again but I should have the route out next week.
