Howdy Everyone,
I recently acquired a Kemtron Denver & Rio Grande Western C-16 Consolidation kit, and, based on the drawings, it proves to be a fantastic HOn3 model, once completed. There's one minor problem...the thing is a 1970's production model, the company is long gone, and I have very little soldering knowledge/know-how. Tips anyone?
Thanks,
-Mark.

I don't know myself, but you might try posting your question on Train Board:

Good luck.

"...I have very little soldering knowledge/know-how." Don't even try! That is a beautiful kit but it is for the craftsman. If you don't have a resistance soldering unit I would not even attempt it. Also, it is not easy to get that thing to run properly even if you do get it put together. There are ready to run C-16's out there that will serve you well and selling the kit should not be hard.

Screw that.

Screw that.

Now, now. Be nice. rolleyes.gif

Do you mean you do not want to attempt building the C-16, or do you mean that you do not wish to purchase a ready-to-run unit?

Cheers!

Haha, I meant it in the sense that I'd like to stick with the project, as opposed to buckling down and buying something pre-fab.

I wish you well, Mark. Show us pictures when you get it done. smile.gif
