Youtube is amazing.

I found a short film that was shot in 1903. Though the "storyline" isn't railroading, per se, it was filmed on the Lackawanna Railroad. If you'll watch the backgrounds, etc, you'll see glimpses of 1903 railroading.

For example, the first scene, watch the background as a freight rolls through at a good clip... with a brakeman standing on top of a car!

You'll also see a Camelback locomotive.

Yep, Ya found a good'en!!!!!!!! That's Miss Phoebe Snow the advertising icon of the D.L.&W. This must be a promo film commissioned by the Lackawanna. Notice how all the main characters, even the "Preacher"( Ever have a robe like that Andre? ) are dressed in white. Clean Coal Tecnology, not a new idea. I wonder if this was shot at the main Depot in Scranton, Pa. the present home of Steamtown. Speaking of Steamtown, there is a fine way for our Gov. to spend our tax $$$$$.
