Great shots! Isn't it a sweet little route?

I started drafting an activity some time back and then got hung up in an AE conundrum ... I'll just have to simplify and try again. The problem is that I try to re-create real activities and the ol' MSTS model doesn't cooperate. And I'm not as devious as Andre who comes up with all kinds of slight-of-hand to make one think something is happening when it is not.

Yeah, I hear Ya!

I have even tried using his activities, and still can't do it! Yes, this is a GREAT route! Between this and the St. L. & N.A., along with Donner, I still need more steam! biggrin.gif

I've been thinking of buying this route. Never been into steam, but want to give it a try. I've been debating on the O&N or Donner. Leaning towards the O&N. A quick question...Is anybody making a template of the O&N for Steve Davis's Activity Generator? BTW, simply beautiful shots!!!

Al, not that I'm aware of. Andre would know. But take the plunge; the ON is worth it!

Galen:

Nice shots! I like what Kosmos has done!

Steve:

When you've been away from the AE for a while, you get rusty. It'll come back to you.

Al:

You won't go wrong either way you go. Donner Pass is an excellently done route and has very nice equipment.

The Ozark Northern is nothing like any commercial route available. I did my very best to capture the 1890's look and feel within MSTS. Jon Davis has supplied unheard of amounts of equipment for such a reasonable price. Of course, I'm prejudiced!

Like I said: You'll have fun whichever route you choose!

As for an ON Skyline template: I don't see one listed at the Skyline site... but Steve does say he's open to suggestions. I have been considering purchasing Steve's offerings to see if it can aid me in creating activities quicker.

Here are a few more shots. I edited the Helper 2 activity. I still have problems when I come out for the second train. I couple on, and it shows in F9 display, however, I can not push. It is like the engines go dead, no transfer of the headlight to the lead locomotive, and I can not uncouple and back up. Still, I have loads of fun! I am using the Vaulcain Compound, number 13.

Enjoy! I know I am!!

Best Regards,

Galen

Nice shots! Love the heavy snow look.

Do you experience any issues running Helper 2 using the equipment the original activity uses? Or, does this seem to be limited the 2-8-0's?

What version of MSTS Bin do you have installed?

Hey Andre,

Just the 2-8-0's.....Which I LOVE! I have Bin 1.7....You know, the one advertised as Stable, and stops "wild" spinning drivers on AI steam.

Glad you like the shots..I'll be sending more!

Hm. Curious. Sounds like I may want to poke around in the eng file and sd file to see if something is obvious.

Andre,

When the second train pulls up (AI), number 4 is the lead engine. I am using the 2-8-0, and as the AI approaches, the smoke comes out as "light plumes", with small puffs. When it comes to a halt, no smoke appears from the AI stack, even when coupling.
