Here's some pics from the Ft. Kent route. These are development pics which means I take from the pictures how well things are meshing together to see if I'm getting the right kind of atmosphere I want for this route. When I think of Maine I think of Cape Cod simplicity, lots of trees, greenery etc. that gives it a distinctive New England feel. These pics are all from the section of the route around Eagle Lake. - Rich

New England feel, huh Rich? Perhaps you could talk someone into making some Chessie System locos for this new creation in progress! LOL!...(umm, but no...I'm serious!) Looks great Rich! BTW: I love your other two routes!

oops...maybe I should've read into some of these corresponding posts to realize Fort Kent was up in Maine....However, if there was some correct Chessie models for the sim...Maybe then I'd just quit the Army and start a new profession... tongue.gif

Excellent pictures Rich. Your Soldier's Pond pics in particular look very familiar to me. You did say you were using Marc's trees (I think they are his), didn't you? I was wondering if they were pictured here? The reason I am asking is because most of the pine, spruce and fir tree up there are like looking at Christmas trees. You know, with the big round bottoms and narrowing down to thin at the top. While these look fine but the trees in Maine look more like those of Minnesota, upper Michigan and even those through the Rockies. Much different than southern New England trees where trees have been pruned, harvested and planted much more than farther north.

Oh, and there are a lot of trailers in that part of Maine so was nice to see some trailers in your pictures, although the trailers up there don't look half as good as they do in your pictures. Poor people up there Rich. We all grew up poor. sad.gif True!!

Anyway, nice work again, Rich. Oh, and Soldiers Pond is one the most beautiful little towns in that area of Maine. The river, of course makes it that way. I sure to miss driving up that way. About an hours drive to Fort Kent from where I used to live. Oh so beautiful in what summer and fall we have but really treacherous in the winter. I refused to drive that road in the winter. Too many hills and too narrow a road.

Again, great stuff.
