finally downloaded hi def but the install path is blank new to this please help

There's a bug in RS where the registry values aren't properly entered, so when the installer goes to look for the RS install path, nothing's found. To solve for default installation:

C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator

For an installation on another location, navigate to the folder where you installed RS.
