Hi all I'm New.
First of you guys have made the most amazing models I've seen on the web so far. Now,.......I'm having a problem with some F-7's I downloaded from aluminum cloud. It sez the skins or something like that was created by you guys. I downloaded at least 8 units from there and the NYC F-Unit from here. That one works fine, but the others do not. I have a tool called con-builder. Anyone that has it knows what it does. I save the consist with the loco that I just downloaded (ex. Milwaukee Road skin). I open up MSTS go to drive a train, Maris Pass, select the loco and the consist, play. It loads and then chrashes. It sez it cannot find the .sms file and shortly after it can't find the cabview. unsure.gif I really know nothing about computers. I read the readme file and it sez U must have the Default F-7 unit. Is that the NYC Freeware download? Or something else? Also it sez to copy the sounds and cabview folders from the default. I have no idea what the default is. Can anyone help?

P.S. I have also had a similar problem with a genisis pak from a different site and I am signed up at Train-Sim.com but It always sez the nodes are busy..................
Hack
The F7 repaints from Aluminum Cloud are for our earlier models, and will not work with the current v3.0 set. There are however, several repaints with the same roads for the updated models at Train-Sim.com's file library. If you receive an "all nodes are busy" message, you'll have to keep trying until you get in. Best times are early AM when the 'net traffic is generally quieter.

There's also a freeware F-Unit cab you can use for our sets called FUNITCab, which is also available at Train-Sim.com

Cheers!
Marc

If you are interested in the Milwaukee Road skin, a version 3 skin Milwaukee Road was made by Bill Hemb it is found in milw_f7.zip at Train-Sim.

One more thing...........on Train-Sim.com when they talk about caching does that also mean history? I've tried to log in three consecutive times at various times during the day.
Hack
Cache and history are different...The former keeps a copy on your drive to speed loading when visiting the same page again and again, while the latter is simply a virtual trail on where you've been. FWIW, I usually turn caching off from the tools > options menu...makes page loading a wee-bit slower, but keeps me from always using the F5 key for a refresh.

Cheers!
Marc
