Rich,
You might want to mention in your read me files that the full quality of the scenery is not available by default in RS. I could not understand originally what all the hoopla was about ( scenery quality)as I my first impression was that quality was about the same as a high quality MSTS route. Then I found that not ALL the parameters were set to high in the options screen. Changing them ALL to high made a very great difference.
Just a note on the sim in general.
There needs to be MUCH better Docs for all aspects of the sim. Both for the casual user and for scenario and route creation. Still have not gottten the hang of scenario creation.

Really? I think my RS settings were maxed out. I never really paid much attention to them in fact.

Well wait... there's a couple of things now that I think about it. In the little Options box that opens when you first start RS you can select the number of Samples. I have no idea what this means. But if you select the higher number of Samples it looks even better. And if you set the ansiatropic, aliasing whatever it gets even better. I haven't seen any slowdowns by maxing this stuff out and started doing so in most of my other games like Oblivion, Silent Hunter 4 and so forth. By default a lot of this stuff is turned off. And there's a couple of guys messing with something called HDR (and again... whatever that is...) which when they get it right makes things look even better.

But you're right in that it's getting to where you really need to keep on top of everything or you could be missing some of the neat things they're doing nowadays. It's probably a good idea to mention all this in the manual that I'm doing in the new route.

From the main opening screen. There is an options selection. Go to this and then Graphical Details.
Partical density was not at high detail as was View distance. Also, the Scenery Detail slider is not set to max in the default setting with the sim. This is what I had changed. Setting all to their max settings. I am still fumbling my way through operations as the Docs are not the greatest. Took me three tries in the R&C to figure out how to uncouple. Not in docs at all.
PS
A very nice route. And as always, enjoy your scenarios.

Thanks! And right. You won't find how to couple and uncouple in my docs because they are in the RS docs. - Rich

Sorry! Did not mean to imply that uncoupling was need in your docs. I was refering to the RS docs. Have not found that yet. Comments about lean docs was for the RS docs.

It's a long time for me too but I thought I saw the uncoupling covered in the docs which covers the F3 dialogue. But I know what you're saying. I think I'm getting to where I understand the activity making much better than I did with the R&C. It's coming though. In a short time you'll probably feel pretty good about it too. I agree on the docs though. On the RailSimUSA forum Derek posted a thing about what could be covered in the docs more fully, you might want to say something there from a user's perspective.

Thanks Rich. These old eyes do not read fine print on a dark backgroud well anymore. Was there.
