Oil Crackers, that is- CN moved some Refinery parts recently, and they came through my neck of the woods! When the train got to town, it was set off on the Nutana industrial tracks, which fortunatley are not too far from home. This was the perfect chance to break in my new Canon Powershot camera, so I braved the cold snap and took some pictures!

They look like Hydrocrackers, but they may be Frac Towers.

TBPX 0007 serves as the rider car on this run!

As seen from the other side of the tracks:

CN 313 is in the way, waiting on frozen switches.

Later in the afternoon, the local power was sent to forward the charges. I went out to the river to see them go over the bridge. Things were pretty misty:

My friend Roman got better pictures of this stage.
That was the last I saw of them. Where they are now, I have no idea.
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Its hard to appreciate the size of those vessels until your end shots with the waycar on the rear. My guess is there was a very slow speed put on that train, especially with passing restrictions on curves. Thanks for the interesting shots wink.gif smile.gif

25 mph on mainline running, 10mph around curves and over bridges. Or so they say.
