A small bit into the yard were 3 CNW hoppers. A solid green one, a yellow one, and a former Rock Island one. Instead of the usual bankruptcy blue paint however, this hopper was in the sand colored paint with an italicized ROCK ISLAND. I don't think I've ever seen one of these- patched or unpatched, so I grabbed a shot and a side-on.

Further down in the yard, nearby the Amtrak depot there sat a lone GP60 in perfect roster lighting, sporting next year as a road number. It was one of those times I wished I had a wide-angle lens and a DSLR rather than the S3 that I sport now, as there was a pile of clutter obstructing the shot.

So I didn't end up seeing 3 of the heritage ACes, but I did end up seeing 2 other surprises
