Ever since the UP started the Heritage fleet, I've made it a mission to hunt them down..and have failed miserably till today. The 4141 and the UP 844 have been the only special locomotives I've found in the past 3 years until today. UP 1996, 1988, and 1982 have finally escaped the confines of California and Illinois and made it to Texas!

Thanks to Mr. Bradley Linda for the info and the ride, it's hard to drive after being up for well over 24 hours!

1996 leads the trio into Burleson, where they'll back into a spur track while the crew and police head over to Babe's Chicken for lunch..

UP 1952 leads a local past the trio, while the conductor waves to his counter part during a roll-by

The Katy unit finds herself on "home" rails again. I wish she'd be held captive here like the Rio Grande unit.
The MoPac blue blends into the clear Texas sky, all three have really grown on me!

WOW Kyle, thats what I call a "Hat Trick" buddy. How is the ride on the ACe compare to the GE's?
oldrailfan
WOW! ...and I thought putting three of the Heritage units together on MSTS would be non-prototypical. wink.gif

Cliff, you could put five together on a Spine train and still be prototypical!

Nice photos Kyle. Dont care much myself for the SP heritage unit, but the other two really catch my fancy, have caught the '96 and '82, still waiting impatiently for the '88.

Kevin, the new Isolated cab ACe's are smooth and quiet, just like the MAC's..personally, i like 'em better...and to hear mechanical talk, they seem to like the EMD's more as well..apparently the ES44's like to dine on cranks!

Something about this logo does something for me...which is why I think Miss Katy is the best out of the group!
