There was actually plenty of modern equipment there - a MARC AEM7 with a double-deck coach, a full Acela Express trainset, 3 Superliners, a Viewliner, and a DOT inspection car - but they arranged it all so all the vintage equipment was in line first; a great move I thought. I wonder if any old-timers walked past the doors leading to the platform that day and did a double-take when the saw all those vintage noses sitting there...
The best line I heard that afternoon was when a gentleman walked past me and marveled at how that was probably the only time in history you'd ever see an E3 on the point of an Acela Express.
