... even a UP fan. But it appears you guys (Dekosoft) have really done a superb job on that UP Super Set. And I understand there's new sounds too? Cool.
Indeed, I'll be picking up that set... then I'll have to use discipline to keep from playing trains instead of finishing MSTS projects!

They are quite nice aren't they? I'm very pleased with the included rollingstock as well. I haven't really been able to stop running the set over Cajon and Tehachapi yet.

Thanks
I really need it right now since I am getting beat up over at trainsim.com.
Photographs of the locomotives in the set can be found at
http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/ and
http://ncespee.railfan.net/UP/uptbl.html except the 293 and 1538. They can be found at
http://www.trainweb.org/arkansastrains/ .
Previous numbers and side view images can be found on my web site at
http://home.bellsouth.net/p/PWP-msts/ along with some activities.
I must admit the new sound by Dan Zollner is my favorite part of the set. They make it all come alive.
And thanks to Chip for making it all possible
Thanks again.

Bryan,
Don't take one persons uneducated opinion to heart. He's the only person out of dozens that had anything negative to say. I think he was just crying out for attention. Thanks for the compliment on the sounds. Appreciate that. And a great job on the skins by yourself! I don't know what he was thinking when he said the skins weren't up to par, but I whole-heartedly disagree.

Bryan:
I figure it's not easy to do, but try your best to throw it off.
I don't want to fall to the same level as the attacker, but frankly, look at his work and consider the source.
BTW, can't stand it any longer... I'm off to Dekosoft to purchase my the UP Super Set. I know, I know... keep my nose in RE and TSM... but hey... a feller's gotta' play SOMETIME, right????
Also, the way I see it, all this forum publicity that Deko is getting could be good for sales? Hope so, anyway.

Bryan, don't worry about that jerk. He gives a few skins and thinks he is hot stuff. That does not make him an expert. Though the part that really gpt me Po'ed was telling how much better his was than yours. What a load.

Well Andre, you better wait a bit then. I got them last night and I forgot all about the movie I was supposed to be watching with my wife.

What the incident did for me is to renew my interest in Kyle & San Joaquin Valley Railroads. Just think, old stuff running in the shadow of two of the most modern fleets. I am scouring the internet trying to find out if they ran 35s in the Tehachapi area. If they did, I would like to do one. So far I have only found photographs of GP 9s,7s ,20s & 28s working there.
I will search on.

Bryan, your doing a wonderful job. I purchased the set the moment the email notification hit my inbox. I agree with Kevin in that it looks like someone was just trying to garner some attention for himself.

Thank you Bryan for all your efforts in this set -- I've said it to you privately but now publicly will state what a fine job this has been, not only with the texturing work, which users have lauded and I don't need to repeat, but also with research, detail spotting, error checking, beta testing and 'behind the scenes' labor. I commend you for burning the midnight oil -- a unit train's worth.
I'll be eager to see your next work. I guess you already know about this site:
http://www.trainweb.org/KernJunction/sjvrgallery.htmLooks like the "GP28" shown is a downgraded GP35?
cheers

Yes I do.
I think the GP 28s were a BN creation like the GP 39Ms & Es. They were Rebuilds of GP 9s & 18s.
I will look into them.

A
Fantastic set !
Fabulous models, skins and sounds! Well done.
Bryan, don't worry about the heretic

it is not even a competitor.
And even time to build activities as well
Regards,
Richard.
YOu should one thousand up him on the skins, Bryan... ( you could do it without trying) THAT'D make him think twice about proclaiming himself God of Reskins...

Hi
I don’t think he realized that many people do the Dekosoft sets. Some well known for their freeware contributions.
For example:
Philippe Andre did the Leased Loco Super Set and Ken Wright did the Seaboard Collector's Edition set
These guys are the best of the best and it has been an honor for me to follow in the footsteps.
I think that argument was more about style that quality of work. I noticed that the samples he showed of work he considered good were all done using mapped photographs. The scratch paint verses photograph mapped repaints was one of the first heated debates at trainsim.com and like most of these debates there was no clear winner. I just hope he learns and grows from the experience and not run away.
Thanks for taking the time to write.

I haven't yet bought the UP Superset but will no doubt get around to it as I've grabbed just about everything else that Dekosoft have done (which speaks volumes). The only criticism I have with the previous models is that the 2D bogies are starting to look a little dated compared to 3dTrains' and MLT's latest.
