Hi Fellow Members,

Today, While Eileen and I were on our way to the grocery store after a short day of shopping at the mall. We were driving by the Gardner area and from the highway, I spotted a train that had a visitor railroad company just sitting there in the small yard and I am guessing that they were waiting for a oncoming train, But anyways. We got off the highway and went to a area where I could take some shots of the train and here are 5 of the 6 shots that I took. The other shot didnt come out that great. Enjoy the shots.

Nice trackwork, if the loco in the last shot leaned over any further it would end up on it's side!

Nice shots, thanks for sharing :-)

Nice pics there. I noticed that there was ex Conrail unit leading. Which type of diesel was it and was one now owned by CSX or Norfolk Southern?
altoonafn
It's owned by NS, and is an SD60M.

It's that "yeller" thing right there in the middle - the subject of this thread...
...by today's standards, she's an "oldie but a goodie!" (Like me laugh.gif )
Can't tell what that "stallion" running third is; since you can see 975? on the numberboards, I'm assuming she's a Dash9-40CW. (...which, for RadialAC's edification, would be a C40-9W in GE's old numbering system...)

"What's a C40-7?" Is Sarcasm for, "That's a C40-8"... smile.gif

very nice shots! Just as an FYI the power was on a loaded Bow (NH) coal train. The Union Pacific C40-8 was cut of in Ayer Mass. and sent back west (no clue as to why) So the SD60M and the C40-9W brought the train the rest of the way up, and yes of course, I caught that SD60M... biggrin.gif

Those Bow coal trains come through Binghamton, NY here on their way up to you. Saw that train on Thursday here...
