In anticipation of the upcoming Memorial Day excursions on the Niles Canyon Railway, a test run was conducted on the western portion of the line between Brightside Yard and Niles.

I saw it sitting at Niles Jct when I went crusing by with my 2 SD60s, 1 SD70 and some pile of crap GE pulling 20 autoracks heading to Warm Springs

Check your PMs over at elvas. I was on the GE switcher in my coveralls with pacset in hand right behind the Steamer when you went by. By the way, doubt you ever saw it, but i got a chuckle out of the UPS Bag hanging on the FRED hose on your rear...

Good to see the old engine running again; wish I'd be around Memorial day weekend for the excursions, but I'm going home for the summer that weekend, not to mention the 3751 excursion the next weekend . Sure hope it'll be running this fall though!

P.S. Anyone else find it remarkable that in the same weekend, two mainline CA steamers were both under steam?

There is going to be ALOT of steam around the country firing up within the next couple months at the same time.
