Just a quick note...

We made a last minute change to the Zephyr set to be included with the route. Instead of the 801ABC F3's (as in the separate CA Zephyr), the set will be lead by FP7 805A, F3B 802C, and F3B 803B, which are more accurate for the period. smile.gif

Cheers!

I can't get over how amazing this route looks! Thanks to all those involved who put so much effort into this.

OK Charles! biggrin.gif Absolutely stunning.

But, now give us the computer specs and MSTS specs to run this spectacular creation. Do I sack my XPS Gen3?

Yet even more fine screen shots. I recognize some of those spots since I have driven down and done railfan photo shoots of the real Feather River Canyon. I have driven up and down high way 70 numerious times.

You guys have done a fine job! Well worth the wait. I am looking forward to the download! I am curious, will you be able to purchase both the download, as well as a CD version together?

Best regards,
Galen

Thanks Charles for the feedback, and more great shots smile.gif .

Looks like the "old" machine (BTW, an XPS Gen3 is a Dell 2005-era gaming PC) will handle it.

As a test, the route will initially be made available via download - those that purchase will automatically be sent a DVD as part of the deal, however. I'm not sure if the download option will carry on after that, as the total file size is fairly large (approximately 1.2Gb), and depending on the number of orders, could put a serious ding in bandwidth.

Wouldn't the purchase price cover the bandwidth cost?

I'll have to wait and see.

I know what you mean Marc ... it might be cheaper to Priority Mail the DVD ... lol. That would certainly be one bandwidth bill I wouldn't want to be stuck with - yikes. Better look that one over very carefully.

Anyhow, back to the question at hand. My short answer is I pull around 30 fps on my system pretty consistantly in explore mode (Athlon 64 X2 - 3.25 GB RAM - 250 GB SATA 7200 - ATI X1650). My laptop pull low teens, which I would expect since it's anything but a performance machine.
