This was inspired by UP1996's post in the Side Tracked forum about night shots. I took these on the night of 2-25-07 in Truckee Ca.

My good buddie is an Amtrak engineer out of Reno. On occasions when the eastbound Zephyr is hours late he has to go out and dog catch it. He had to go up to Truckee to get it earlier this year and take it to Reno. He showed me the pics he took and literly the entire cab was covered in snow. It was quite a site to see. Again yet a nice night shot pic.

Check out these pics; they kind of go along with the snow theme of this thread. They were taken by my good amtrak engineer friend. The Amtrak crew that was takeing the eastbound Zephyr over Doner Pass into Reno ran out of hours so my friend had to go up to Truckee to rescue the train and bring it down to Reno. This all took place in a rageing blizzard. The Zephyr did not make it off of Donner Pass into Reno, Nevada untill well after midnight (like 8 or so hours late). Once my friend brought the Zephyr into reno he took these two pics and E-mailed them to me. This is the zephyr at the Reno Amtrak station during the snow storm.

I am guessing this is one of the times last year that the flanger or spreader went on the ground.

It was either December 2006 or January 2007. I think around Jan 2007. I would have to check to be sure on the dates.
