Hi Marc,
i've purchased today GP9 superpack with dynamics but i have 2 problems.

1- maybe i dont know how dynamic brakes works but i cannot engage dynamics.
the A key (i usual use for engage dynamics does't works.

2- lights during the night works only at DIM position ... at FULL ... lamps are lighted but
the lights on terrain disappear. The strange thing is that in daytime works perfectly
i can see the difference from dim to full. I've tryied with different routes .. same problem.

Let me know .. thanx

PS: I maybe wrong download? the main file is v3Geep_ATSF2_SuperPack.zip

Using the A key for dynamic brakes only works on locomotives with desktop style controls, e.g. Dash-9's, SD70's etc. In locomotives with conventional control stands you must bring the throttle to zero using the A key and then use the > key to increase dynamic braking and the < key to reduce it.

As to the light question, I have no idea.

I never noticed this, but you're absolutely right. In the ENG files of the v3 ATSF Geeps, the section coding for the bright sphere of light looks like this:

Light (
comment( Sphere of Bright Light )
Type ( 1 )
Conditions (
Headlight ( 3 )
Unit ( 2 )
Penalty ( 1 )
TimeOfDay ( 1 )
)

"TimeOfDay ( 1 )" means that the sphere of light is only active at daytime. I guess this is not intended. If you want to have the bright sphere of light also at night, you can edit the ENG files with Wordpad, changing "TimeOfDay ( 1 )" to "TimeOfDay ( 0 )".

Marc,
done you will update GP9 take a look to:

v4ATSFFreewareSetup.exe (Santa Fe AB Bonus set)
v4NYCFreewareSetup.exe (NY Central AB Bonus set)

I've noticed that they have both similar problems. I mean works only in FULL light ... DIM is not
operative. You have to type H twice to have light.

Which GP-9s are you having this problem with? So far I have tested 2910, 2886, 2681 & 2857 and not only does the Full lights illuminate the terrain but you can definately see the difference between DIM and FULL.

He said it worked fine in daylight but not after dark. The 1 vs. 0 trick should take care of it.

Herb,
I don't know where you live but it is dark here in Alabama at 2300 hours. And it sure looked dark on the Seligman route at Needles at 2300. tongue.gif
