Marietta was one of the first places I did when I first started piddlin' with the idea of upgrading Ohio Rail. Since then I've been back there twice to piddle some more. Having done Caldwell, Zanesville and Cambridge I felt I could do Marietta some justice. Marietta is one of those places on the route I would rather just redo the whole route all over again because when I first began Ohio Rail, I didn't have any particular idea in mind and just started plowing up ground like it was nobody's business. So to come back later and reshape the city to look like a city hasn't been easy. But this time I think I got something goin. Have a look:

I started out in the Marietta Yard and by the time I got to looking around and snapping pictures I was already near the station. Mind you, this is a test run and there's still a few things left to do so the first thing I wanted to see was how each side of the city looked.

I'm wielding the camera around as fast as I can and I thought this would be a good overview picture.

There were some details I needed to see under the station and it was of all things a road. So this next pic is after the station looking out of the nose of the F unit. These aren't wonderfully staged shots like you see guys like Rod, Paul and Tim do (and anybody else who takes the time to compose a shot), I'm actually flying along a bit fast for the yard. And fps is very good btw.

I finally got around to looking at the other side of Marietta but by that time I was quickly moving away from the downtown area of Marietta and onward. So I snapped this quick elevated shot. And please forgive my need to belabor this point that I don't have the time to compose shots. I typically only run the sim during route building times to see how the work accomplished looks in the sim.

By this time I seen what I needed to see and so I took a moment to take a quick pic of the train leaving town. Marietta like the rest of the cities and towns has been enlarged as well as extensively redone to accomodate the changes. I did have to leave the original Marietta station in place but I may at some time after the upgrade is released do my own station. And that would apply to the stations in Zanesville and Cambridge.

What a difference Rich.

From the whole route, Marietta was always the one and only place that I didn't want to linger - it is interesting to hear that you weren't too happy about it.

Looking good (again smile.gif )
