To ALL:

I have to admit I messed up. This blunder goes back to the track diagram I made for Rich's original Canton release. I was complacent, I did not check my previous work (no one notiified me of my blunder.) I left off one leg of the wye at Canton, the leg which connects Canton Station to Canton Aux. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

Anyway, I have a corrected diagram which I have attached for your use.

Please note that this diagram includes the complete route - Canton thru to Thompson.

New Years resolution in February 2005...promise to be more thorough in checking my own stuff. (Please make this the proper link! beg beg beg)

awww geesh...misppelt the title even (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

EDIT: March 3, 2005 - I will be replacing this file with a newer version this coming weekend. I have added signals as was asked for, as well replaced the pre-release scrap yard layout with the proper version. All errors that have been pointed out have been corrected.

EDIT: March 5, 2005 - Apologies to everyone who had downloaded earlier. The attached zip file when un-zipped contains two files. The ReadMe.txt explains the changes. In a nutshell, all items mentioned in this thread have been corrected or added, with a few cosmetic changes thrown in. This file should replace the file C-S-T Diagram.pdf which you received with the route, or previously downloaded from this thread.

Rich, you may want to replace the one in your Thompson download with this one. Also may want to replace the Canton-Suddenly one, since this FINAL VERSION contains a more readable and corrected version even though they may not use all pages.

If you update these diagrams when the next extension is added, would you consider adding the signals? I have added them with a pen, but there would look a lot cleaner if they were part of the actual diagram. Just something to think about!

Hi Sixman:

Signals.....I think than be done.

No futher updates are planned for the immediate future. I'm going to wait to see what other mistakes I made and correct them all at once.

Graig,

One small mistake I noticed. On the very first page, the location of Graham should be on the branch, not the main line. Other than that, they are great.

Not sure what you are using to create the diagrams, but if it is VISIO I have a copy of 5.0 and might be able to help if you every need it. Let me know and we can work out the details.

Duly noted. How did I miss that!

Thanks Paul.

Hi Sixman:

Thank you for you offer. However, unless it has a very capable error checker, it will not help. Seems the ol' eyeballs Mk. 1 see what they expect to see and not what should be.

I do the majority of the grunt work using a CAD package, the files are not interchangable with Visio.

Anyway, thank you.

Dear ckawahara,

First I want to thank you for your maps, they are very helpful. In the interest of accuracy could you re-check the Jerimiah aux track? I just completed the run there to pick up empty gons and it didn't look quite the same.

Again, thank you for your work.

Yours truly,
Leland

As long as you're making corrections I note that the siding designations at the scrap yard are reversed. Thanks for your work on the maps. They are very well done and very helpful.

In reggards to the Jeremiah Aux track, the switches at each end are each located on one of the legs of the WYE, not on the mainline. That is most likely looked odd to Leland.

One more thing abour Jeremiah. Your diagrams has the Jeremiah passing siding to the right of the mainline and the Jeremiah Aux to the left. The actual layout has the mainline as the rightmost track, the Jeremiah passing siding to the left, and the WYE (with the Jeremiah Aux track on off the WYEs legs) to the left of the passing siding.

Hi Sixman (and the rest of you Canton-Suddenly-Thompson Crazies...) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

About Jeremiah...for whatever reason, the pdf file has the wrong/old/incorrect track diagram. I cannot explain it. The diagram you see was for one of the early beta's.

I have located the correct track diagram. I am working on two computers, and perhaps I did not update one of the. Don not know.

Excuses aside, I have a draft of a updated diagram. Have added the signals, the proper Jeremiah detail, and a bunch of stuff I just decided to do, and the changes listed in this thread.

I have learned aplenty from you guy's feedback.

I will post a new version here ... most likely this weekend (or before depending on just how much embarresment I want to take on the next go-around.

Appreciate your guy's help.

Many thanks for your efforts with these maps. Now there are fewer derailments as a result of chosing the wrong track! Your maps have been extremely helpful to me as well. Doug

Hey my friend, Craig. Don't get yourself in a lather about the small errors. I appreciate as I am sure all of us do the work you have put into this. Heck, with all of the added trackage and the changes I am surprised you have it done as well as you have. I certainly used it last night while I was exploring the route and plan to use it tonight when I explore the spurs etc. If I get on the wrong one before you get the updated one finished, I certainly am not going to blame you, Craig. Heck, what you have done on your own time is great and much appreciated by me. And don't sweat the small stuff. What you have done is very professional looking and very very helpful. I thank you very much for taking the time to provide what you have and look forward to any updates you make.

On a personal note, haven't heard from you in a while. Email and let me know what is happening in California, well, besides all the wet weather. Almost ready to swap this stupid snow with you though. Over six inches in this area in the last two days. Very unusual to get all at once. Might as well have been back home in Maine. It ain't exactly warm here either. What a crazy winter.

Again, thanks for all your work Craig. It is appreciated, errors or not. Hey, no one is perfect. At least no one among the living! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
