It looks as if all my posts from yesterday are gone into oblivion, so I'll re-post pix of the new motive power for the new North Arkansas Electric Railway.

First up GE 60-ton steeplecabs 22 and 24, ex-Oregon Electric, were slated to go to British Columbia Electric (which they did in reality and still exist)) but little ol' NA Electric bid a slightly higher price.....

You just can not leave steam entirely out of the North Arkansas picture, at least I can't. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Tim,

I second Rod's comments. With you and he and Tim B. all posting these great picts. of what is possible on Andre's route, what better publicity could he have. It shows how versatile the route is and what is possible with just a little work, well, not a little, but work that is rewarding anyway. Thanks Paul and Rod! I like the ESR rolling stock. Especially No5!
I'm going to have to do up some of Wayne's XM's in NAE schemes now.

Tim,

Look'n real GOOD...

Holy Smokes that articulated can pull - look at the length of that train... Serious motive power... No thinking about it - this guy starts off with "I know I can"...

Regards,
Scott

Hi Tim!

Andre's North Arkansas is a great environment to display your models. The photos are excellent. I love the spoked wheels on No 22 - including the spoked trolley wheel ! That steeeplecab has always been my favourite of your models. I'm looking forward to seeing your new NP 40ton boxcar done in NAE livery and weathered to the max. It would make a great additon to the NAE roster.

I'm looking forward to following your progress on this project.

Hi Wayne!

Good to see you here. Yes, I agree with you about the environment of the NA. It grew on me right away, enough so that I have pushed aside my own feeble attempts at roue building. All that is lacking is some city streets for good boulevard running, eh? I didn't know that the OE steeplecabs were your favorite. Thanks for the compliment. I still have the POV shot you took of one of them.

Good idea about re-painting the NP boxcar......

See ya around.

Scott,

Thanks. Jon's "Old Maud" has always been a favorite of mine and I just had to hire her on the road.

Tim:
Funny your should post pictures of "Old Maud",
I D/L'd her on 12/31 and have been running heavy freights thru Tunnel and up Seligman Hill ever since!
She's become one of my favorite steamers for the StL&NA because it eliminates helpers, and double-headers up Seligman Hill.

Hung 20 loaded log flats on 'er and she walked right up "the Hill" at 18 mph.

Comparing the StL&NA Ten-Wheelers to "Old Maud" is like comparing a sports car to a bulldozer!
Very HEAVY controls, but that also make 'er easy to run.
Jus' get 'er up to 15 mph, give 'er full throttle and 30% cutoff,
then sit back, put yer feet up on the backhead, and enjoy the ride!
And watch Clyde the Fireman shovelin' like mad! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It's that what Diesels are for? Sound like a bulldozer when they are pulling. Come to think of it, ain't bulldozers good for pulling stumps as well? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I almost forgot to ask...for an eletric line, I haven't seen any high-speed interburans for the run from Seligman to Eurka Springs/Berryville. They were across the stateline in Kansas a little later in time from Erdna's orginal North Arkansas time frame. Erdna and I had a friend several years ago that ran those Kansas Interburans, the stories were very interesting to hear.

That's right. Keep that boy in the kitchen! We may cook the manure out of him yet and git some decent coal dust under his nails.

Figures, Tom, I put a steamer pic in here and all the old tea kettle jockeys come out of the woodwork. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I DL'd Old Maud about 2 years ago, ran 'er once or twice under the Willamette Valley Ry banner, and then forgot about her.

NAE 40 ton boxcar #49 as per Wayne's suggestion:

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Yeah, like those. They make the trip at least twice daily to handle the milk and eggs...right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
