Marc,

I have just downloaded all the texture packs for scalerail and I am still getting the same error message when I try to place a track section. Its saying it cant find SR_Track_w2.ace but its all the different numbers not just "2". All the SR_Track_w*.ace have a letter behind the number (e.g. w2a.ace) I have the most recent version of Scalerail as I just downloaded it last night.

P.S. Its an MSTS Issue not RS/RW

Make sure that you place copies of the ScaleRail textures in the route's Texture folder.

Cheers!

Every scalerail texture I have has a copy in my route folder. I dont care about folder file size because I can weed out unused files later. I actually can't find the files anywhere on my system.

Download the files to a location on your PC that you can easily navigate to, extract the installer from the downloaded zip file, double left-click the installer, and then follow the on-screen prompts. You will need a copy of both the common textures and a wood tie texture set to get going.

Cheers!

Just to make sure, I redownloaded the common texture pack, and the Dark Gray Ballast wood ties pack. After dowloading and installing both to my desktop, I opened the TEXTURES folder now on my desktop and manually made a list of every file included in each download. Note: The folders also include a SNOW folder with the same files it them plus a readme and license text files. Attached is the .txt file that I put all the files names in. List was triple-checked to ensure that I didn't miss any.

Attached File(s)
Attached File  texturelist.txt ( 2.42k ) Number of downloads: 168

Why would you install to your desktop? You need to install the files to your route. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I already have the files in my routes folder. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt overlooking something so I installed them on the desktop just to make 200% sure I didn't overlook something.. Any idea where the missing textures might be? Because they are not anywhere on my system.

So that we're on the same page, the main textures go into your route's TEXTURES folder, while the winter versions go into your route's TEXTURES\SNOW folder.

When placing track, check the box in the object filter list to show thumbnails. This will clue you in on what track is available, and which is not. If you see a thumbnail image, then that track piece is available for selection. If blank, then that piece was never created or made available in the package.

Also, you mentioned that you're missing SR_Track_w2.ace, but that one was replaced a long time ago (at least 2 or 3 years) by SR_Track_w2a.ace. It would appear that you probably have an older install of ScaleRail shapes, but a newer install of textures.

Cheers!
