Time to rev up for festivities. The heat of summer is gone, the leaves on the trees are changing, and what better fun than climbing aboard a fast steamer and chugging on up the valley? Let's go.

Coming around the bend from Loyall.

it gets a little dreary in places where the leaves have already fallen off the trees.

Looking back towards the town of Benham, you can just make out the coal tipple before heading into Lynch.

What, no takers yet for this marvellous set of shots? Rich, there is a fine looking quality to Cumberland which i am pretty certain is going to take it straight into the "classic" status.

Very nice display Rich, many of the pics looking like 50's photos (which would be just about right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

It is purple... is that right??? I wondered that myself but all I got are b&w photos of L&N stuff. Can't tell from that.

Those coaches have been out there some time now and no one has commented on their colour being wrong. They are well weathered!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I just pulled this up from Walthers cause I didn't know, let alone even knew if the L&N had passenger coaches and this is what Walthers has. See if this helps. It looks like a cross between purple and blue to me, but maybe more blue?

Walthers L&N coach picture

edit: figured it was smarter to just include the pic.

Just trying to help.
