StLNA Users:

This pinned topic is the new place to post any activities that are created for the StLNA.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!

1. INDICATE if the activity uses StLNA DEFAULT supplied equipment.

2. INDICATE if the activity uses the NA PACK (i.e. The DLW North Arkansas Equipment Pack).

WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST refraining from requiring additional downloads so the end users can install painlessly and get to fun of running quickly.

Thanks to all that create activities for the StLNA! Enjoy!

For convenience, Andre suggested that I repost some activities here.

This first one is based on the St.L.&N.A. "New Hire 1" run with the timetable added. To run this, you must have:

1. St.L.&N.A. Route.
2. Generic MSTS
3. Davis Locomotive Works' North Arkansas Equipment Pack
4. Microsoft Office (to open the timetable Excel file, though you can get by with the info in F11)

There is one error message in it for some car I had on a siding that I hijacked from somewhere ... blush.gif

2. St.L.&N.A. Route
3. Davis Locomotive Works' North Arkansas Equipment Pack
4. Microsoft Office to open the timetable (an Excel file)

In this activity you play the role of both the conductor and engineer of an eastbound extra. The dispatcher hasn't specified any meets, so its up to you to decide where to meet any scheduled trains. You will need the DLW NA Equipment Pack and Steve's Time Table No. 22. The activity shows in the list as "extra 6 east".

Here's another activity for you hard-core steam wizards ...

You will need the following:

1. Davis Locomotive Works NA Equipment Pack;
2. Microsoft Excel for the timetable (same as posted above).

The locomotive, No. 7, is sized for the tonnage ... just. biggrin.gif I'm indebted to Doug Jones and Wayne Campbell for their getting around the MSTS "dark territory" limitations.

The activity will show up as "New Line Timber", or something like that ...

Enjoy!

Here's another one! Just in time for the weekend ...

This is a series. Each activity is independent, but I broke them up to allow for the arrival and departure of timetable trains.

You have been called for the Eureka Springs switcher on a normal day. Your job is to make up timetable trains, switch consists and stay out of the way.

To run the activity you will need:
1. DLW NA Equipment Pack
2. Time Table 22 (posted above)

The activity will appear as "Eureka Switcher No. 6, Part I".

Here's another activity! Based on timetable 22, above, this one puts you behind the throttle of No. 5 Passenger to Seligman. Now these tourists got all mellow at the hot springs in Eureka, so give them a nice ride back to their Frisco connection at Seligman. rolleyes.gif

But then, it is a railroad, and things happen ...

To run this activity, you will need:
1. DLW NA Equipment Pack
2. Time Table 22 (posted above)

The activity will appear in your StLNA menu as "No. 5 Passenger".

Have fun!

Hello All!

My 1st StL&NA act is ready to go. To run it you just need:

- The "St Louis & North Arkansas Route"
- The NA-Equipment pack of DLW*.

It`s train No 4 according to the timetable posted by S. Weaver.
A mixed train for which you must you take some three hours
of running, switching, etc... I just love it!

Enjoy it!

Christian

Version 1.2 with little corrections.
* Note: Post edited for accuracy. The NA Pack is made by Jon Davis of DLW instead of Gaetan of BLW. Andre

Andre: Thanks for the correcture! smile.gif

Christian, I can't wait to try the "Bavarian touch".

Here's the Frisco local activity I mentioned some time ago. To run it you will need:

1. V Scale's North Arkansas Route;
2. DLW's North Arkansas Pack.

It will appear in your St.L.&N.A. Activities as "Frisco Local".

Enjoy!

Here's another activity. This one is a variation on the Walden Turn ... just a lazy run from Seligman to Walden and back. Lumber is backing up at the mill so you need to run down some flats and bring up a couple of loads.

To run this activity you will need:

1. VSC North Arkansas Route;
2. DLW North Arkansas Equipment Pack;
3. Time Table 22 (above)

After unzipping and unpacking, the file will appear in your NA Activities as "Walden Turn Variation"

Here's a new activity. It is based on a historical scenario, late winter 1901, just after the New Line rail head had passed Freeman. The push is on for Harrison! And you get to haul supplies ...

To run this activity you will need:
- Time Table 22, above; and
- The DLW NA Equipment Pack

The activity will appear in your St.L.&N.A menu as "New Line Hustle". Have fun!

I'm new to modifing things in Train Simulator. I got some of the activities to unzip, but none showed the in activites area for the route. Other ones that I sad.gif tried to unzip said that I need an unpacker. What is this?

Hi Railfan,

Have a look in the Simulator root folder (i.e. Mocrosoft Games/Train Simulator) in the UTILS folder. There you will find a little utility, TSUNPACK. Make sure you have the route installed (e.g. if you are using Trainstore, that it isn't stored) then simply drag the .apk file onto it - the utility will do the rest, all you have to do is confirm the action when asked.

Good unpacking biggrin.gif

An activity for the StNLA using DLW equip't. This switching conundrum appeared in in "Model Railroader" in the early '60's, if I remember correctly so far back.
This is an apparently extremely simple exercise at the Seligman wye.
