FWIW: Just reached the eastern terminus (for Segment 1) with the rails, a place called Augusta, NJ. The LNE interchanges there with the Lackawanna. I must now go back to the west end and head toward Pen Argyl.
The LNE through the Kittaninny Mountains in NJ was like a roller coaster! Several grades over 1%. However, the big grades are ahead to the west! (2%+)
In all, trackwork: About 60% - 65% finished.
Texture work has begun on the "Northeastern-style" caboose the LNE used.
Final go was given for the creation of the Paulins Kill viaduct. The PK viaduct is a signiature structure for the Hainesburg Jct scene, for the LNE passes UNDER it through one of the large arches. Dig this: Concrete arch construction; 1350' long; 125' high; Lackawanna double track atop of it. Can you say "impressive" to look up from the cab of an LNE diesel at ground level and see that massive structure up above? Will look ultra cool with a Lackawanna hot shot freight blasting overhead! Can't wait!
All for now, back to work!
