For anyone curious as to what is on the Archive CD, or otherwise trying to decide whether or not to spring for it, I've posted shots of all of the locos on my web site:

Obo's MSTS Locomotive Catalog

They are mixed in with everything else, but there is a set of links at the top to the pages with new Dekosoft content. In case it isn't obvious, anything with "Source: Pro Edition Archive CD" next to it is, uh, from the CD.

I realize I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but it can also be looked at as simply a gallery of a very nice body of work.

Great stuff, Chip. Thanks again.

Rob.

I saw that and had a question. Is the Burlington Northern GP38-2s included on the CD. If not, where could I get them at?

The bonus BN GP38-2's are not on the CD. As far as I know, at the moment the only way to get ahold of bonus sets that aren't in the Archive is to scrounge around and see if you can get somebody to send the file to you. A good way to start is to check the various topics here on the forum discussing the bonus sets.

I have them, but I'd have to ask chip about passing them around. I don't see harm, but he may prefer otherwise, seeing the BNSF pack and all.

Thanks. Do you think you could just send the textures files if it is OK with Chip. I don't have the GP38-2 Pack but I have all of the supersets that were realesed so I could get the .s and cab files from one of them. I would think it would be OK since I just want the .ace files but you never know. Thanks again.

This sort of ties into another thread that was going around concerning the bonus units.

I am doing some hardware adjusting, and have not been able to get started on my Deko List, although I have made at least one very good contact in that regard.

I purchased a SATA raid 250 Gig Hard Drive, 7200 rpm, and 8 meg Cache, to add to the 120 gig barracuda drive I am currently using. However, I have not been able to get it installed yet. My "Game" system in sort of un-usable at the moment.

I am also trying desperately to scrounge up the cash to snag one of those ATI 9800XT 256 meg Vid cards. I am still a bit short.

Currently I am using a Nvidia 5200 128 meg card, and am not happy with the performance.

So ... I think that if we can get the thumbs up from Chip and Company, that fairly soon, there may be a sort of Dekosoft release index, and the possibility of sharing some of the more elusive bonus models to other Die hard Deko heads. Of course, you will still have to have purchased the original products to use them ( They require the passwords from various sets), however, my hope would be to allow those of us who got involved in MSTS later than many of you, the opportunity to complete our collections.

Keep your eyes open. My contact is very knowledgable and has already done ALOT of work. I won't name him/her as a matter of professionalism. But he or she may do so if they wish.

Keep in mind this is all on the up and up. Deko deserves every penny they charge for there products, and I would never dream of taking any of that away from them. What we are talking about here is strictly about bonus models for sets that you have already purchased. (Like the BN sets). To use them you will have to have the correct passwords from the sets that you bought.

I will also cancel my end of this project with a single word from Chip. These are his works afterall, and if he does not approve of this concept then I will not bring it up again.

Peace,

MFOS

Bryan:

Appreciate the offer, and I've been tempted to open the site up a bit many times (and it would be much bigger if I had) but I've come this far running with just my own stuff so I'll probably keep it that way. Slower but simplifies a lot of things.

Thanks for the reminder about your site. Now that I have the CD I hope to find the time to try out some of your activities.

Regards,

Rob.

as far as I know, none, but they are all archived (other than Leased, UP, CSX, and CNW) and includes a FEW bonus models. Chip should be able to give more info.

Wow, Chip, I had no idea there was all that on the CD. I have some of it but not all of it. Didn't realize all that was there. Well, I just have to have it now. The question of course for me is when. I want the CSX superset as well so I am going to have to make a choice of which one I want first.....Going to be a tough decision. But, I will be getting them both, that is for sure. Thanks for posting that Chip. Made my decision on purchasing it that much easier! biggrin.gif

I am going to try a reskin on an old NS that I have onto your template one and see how much different it looks! Just to see for myself. May not be true NS but it will only be on my machine. I just may want to do others in this fashion if it comes out nice. Should be interesting to do though. It will stay on my machine of course. wink.gif

Why? I think we should laugh at Chip too..... ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Of course you know I am just kidding Chip. Hmmm, watch when I purchase the CSX set, he'll probably make me wait for a week now for the codes! unsure.gif sad.gif

It was just a joke, Chip. How about, laughing with him instead of at him? Too late, huh? Already stuck my foot in my mouth. blush.gif blush.gif

On a serious note, will be getting the CSX set this weekend, positively. Am looking very much forward to it. Am still running the heck out of the CNW stuff. Really great stuff. I particularly like the wagons that came with it.

Thanks Chip and company, you know I love your work!! wink.gif

Been a while since I laughed out loud at a post Chip, but that one just posted by you did it! That was a perfect come back. I am still laughing out loud.
Will that stand up routine include any train jokes because if it is real good I might be interested in getting it too!!! tongue.gif laugh.gif

I will be expecting it in the next update too, by the way! laugh.gif blink.gif laugh.gif Still ROFLMAO. I know I probably woke up the house with my outburst of laughter but that was worth it. A great comeback! And we will all be looking for that now, you know!! wink.gif

You gotta love it. Love your stuff Chip and company! Really great engines and rolling stock. And I still say that your CNW set was totally outstanding. Anyone not getting it is really missing something very special. The rolling stock is stupendous.

Obo, nice website you have!
One question, there is a listing of a B&M GP40 from Dekosoft, when was this released?

Any word on if your project is going to be a go MFOS? Thanks!
