I might be able to scrounge up an extra hard hat, I'll check this evening. If not you can check with an industrial supply outfit such as Grainger or White Cap. Also I've seen them in welding supply stores. You might even find one in a Home Depot though I'm not certain since I don't frequent those very often. They are fairly innexpensive, I paid less than $20 for mine and that was after tracking down a full brim design.

Thanks. If I can't find one at a local hardware store, I'm sure they can order one for me... and there's always the internet! wink.gif

I do believe that if you can drive there, that excludes you from the category of being to far to drive....

Under the breath..."Do you have a junior in hi school involved in every possible activity there can be?"

The California State RR Museum is using the shops now. They recently reinstalled (actually it is new) one of the two transfer tables that were used at the shops.

A large portion of the equipment that can be seen was donated by SP and or UP. You can see in the top 2 pics several cranes, I do not recall at this time who owned the smaller of the 3 cranes that is near the track geometer car. The larger cranes are ex SP 250 tonners, one of them was based with the Roseville wreck train SPMW #7113.

If you look closely to the 2nd pic you can see the tops of two ATSF steam engines, a 4-8-4 and a 2-10-4. The Santa Fe donated their collection of motive power that included the two steam engines and a sample of nearly all the diesels they had at one time or another. The sampling of diesels include first generation road and yard switchers.

I have posted more pics of the CSRM Shops at my Yahoo group Railfans_Photos:
