Hi All:

I have a question I hope some of you can help me with...

How does one go about getting VHS footage into a PC editable/uploadable state?

I have hours of Eureka Springs & North Arkansas steam footage, some of it quite rare (their Shay for example)... but no way to share it with others at this point. Would love to be able to figure out a way to offer to others via DVD's or short clips at Youtube, that sort of thing.

Any of you have experience at this? If so, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Andre,

After researching CNET about three years ago, I bought a Pinnacle adapter at Staples that worked well. It is a converter box that has RCA inputs and a USB output to the computer. I have made a video off VHS over 20 mins long with no issues whatsoever. Then you can import it to something like the Windows Movie Maker (or any other editor) and lay extra tracks, titles or anything else.

Any office supply store should have that item. This is a link to what I bought:

I too use Dazzle. Works well and is not complicated or expensive.

Thanks fella's. The above link didn't work... but armed with the name "Dazzle"... I'll try to learn more about it.

I, too, own a Dazzle. The model I use is a DVC-90, but it looks like there have been more recent models released.
